How to record streaming audio with Audacity (3:46)

Ever wondered how you can record a piece of streaming audio? Look no further -just watch the tutorial below. For those among you who are working on Vista/win7 machines: the technique demonstrated in the video may not work, for the very simple reason that from Vista onwards DRM (Digital Rights Management) has been implemented differently, which makes it more difficult to record anything you want. Select, trim, split, mute, and add silence in Audacity (2:38)

This video shows you how you can use the split function to create a gapped sound file in Audacity, where students have to fill in the missing word(s). By adding silence to the original recording, we make sure that they have some time for writing down the answer. Alternatively, you can crop a part of a recording and keep only that part you're interested in, by using the trim function.

Downloading, installing, and using lame_enc.dll in Audacity (3:12)
